Finish five levels with a "Silent Assassin" rank to get the M4. Alternately, complete the Shogun Showdown level with a "Silent Assassin" rank.

Silent Assassin ranks:
You can still get a Silent Assassin rank on a mission if you are spotted. To get a "Silent Assassin" rank, there has to be nothing in the aggression bar. You can make sure of this by only using chloroform on guards and eliminating the target with just one shot.

Killing the scarecrow:
When you are at your home (shed near church), equip your fiberwire and go to the scarecrow. Get behind it, and go into sneak mode (tap L1). Push R3 to go into first-person view then hold R1. Once you are aiming at the target drawn on the back of the scarecrow, release R1. Once 47 is done strangling it, it will be on the floor without a head.

More ammunition:
If you are near a stack of ammunition but are notified by the game that you cannot pick it up, use this trick to get almost twice as much normal ammunition. If you have a shotgun with full ammunition and are next to a pile of shotgun ammunition, fire one shot, reload, then pick up the ammunition. You will now have almost double the ammunition.

Getting the M4 (M16):
In the motorcade level, you need to clear the town quickly and grab the supplied rifle. Shoot your target. This will cause the UN guards to stop and run on foot to your position. Wait until they get through the gates, then dodge their shots and put them in the cross fire from the remaining troops outside. Since you cannot hurt them, do not shoot. They will soon shoot their own men. Then, just run up and grab an M4. This may not be easy, but it does work.

To get the M4 easier, just use the fiber wire on the UN guards.

Getting the .22SD pistol:

Animals:

Pick locks quicker:

Alternate costumes:
Hold L1 + R1 while choosing a character at the selection screen.

In Free Battle or Mission mode, hold L2 + R1 and press X when selecting a character.

Unlock Curse-Marked Sasuke:
Reach "Chunin" rank in Mission mode with 500 experience points.
Unlock Gaara:
After finishing Saga mode as Zabuza you will unlock Gaara in Saga mode. After finishing "Gaara Saga" you will unlock Gaara in Versus mode.
Unlock Haku:
After finishing Saga mode as Hinata you will unlock Haku in Saga mode. After finishing "Haku Saga" you will unlock Haku in Versus mode.
Unlock Hinata Hyuga:
After finishing Saga mode as Neji you will unlock Hinata in Saga Mode. After finishing "Hinata Hyuga Saga" you will unlock Hinata in Versus mode.
Unlock Neji Hyuga:
After finishing Saga mode as any default character you will unlock Neji in Saga mode. After finishing "Neji Hyuga Saga" you will unlock Neji in Versus mode.
Unlock Nine-Tailed Naruto:
Reach "Jonin" rank in Mission mode. Nine-tailed Naruto will be unlocked in mission, free battle and practice modes.
Unlock Orochimaru:
After finishing Saga mode as Gaara you will unlock Orochimaru in Saga mode. Complete "Orochimaru Saga" to unlock Orochimaru in Versus mode.
Unlock Zabuza Momochi:
After finishing Saga mode as Haku you will unlock Zabuza in Saga mode. After finishing "Zabuza Momochi Saga" you will unlock Zabuza in Versus mode.
Bonus missions:
After finishing "S" rank Mission 2, "Icha Icha Paradise", to unlock Mission 11. Complete all non-"S" rank missions (Hokage rank) to unlock Mission 12.

Finish Gaara's story mode you will unlock 2 Village of Sand missions, Kazekage's Mansion, Sumanigo Estate and Buddha Statue.
Finish Haku's story mode to unlock Great Naruto Bridge and Zabuza's Hideout missions.

Capsule machines:
Reach "Special Jonin" to unlock the Capsule Machine for Collectors. Reach "Anbu" rank to unlock the Capsule Machine for Maniacs.
Recovering health:
Hold Up to assume a taunting pose. The only characters who can do this are Sakura, Hinata, Shikamaru, and Kakashi.
Recovering Chakra:
To recover Chakra (energy), hold Down. You will be defenseless when recovering Chakra.
Hidden Scrolls:
The easiest way to obtain the hidden scrolls is to complete the objective in practice mode. This will not work for the Kikyo castle stage, Zabuza's hideout stage, and the Great Naruto Bridge stage. Obtain these scrolls in two player free mode and have one of the players not move.

The Ramen Ichiraku stage: Strike all the lanterns on the lowest level of this stage untill they glow red and are about to break. Do not break them. If done correctly you will get the hidden scroll.

Hokage's Mountainside Images stage: Jump up and down on the treetop to the left of the center ring. After about ten jumps you will receive the hidden scroll.

Hero's Memorial Stone stage: Strike your enemy's support character five times to receive the hidden scroll.

Survival Exercise Ground stage: Destroy ten of the practice dummies appearing on the back plane to obtain the hidden scroll.

Look Out Tower stage: This is one of the hardest scrolls to obtain. To get the scroll, shatter the purple barrier that stops you from plane shifting. Then, go to the giant frog's head. You must jump from the frog's head to the snake's head without falling or touching the ground. The easiest way to do this is to jump forward then double jump at the last moment. Then, perform an air dash toward the snake's head. Then, return to the frog's head using the same move. All this must be done before the snake starts breathing fire. The moment you get back to the frog's head, you will receive the hidden scroll.

Chunin Exam Stadium stage: Run to the hole in the ground five times to obtain the hidden scroll. Make sure you wall-run out of the tunnel each time.

Kikyo Castle stage: Stand on the top tail tip of the fish statue in the upper-right hand corner of the back plane while the timer gauge ticks down for ten seconds.

Exercise Ground Forest Of Death stage: Attack the fish swimming in the stream three times to get the scroll.

Zabuza's Hideout stage: Stand on the building's upper most level and wait for three counts of the time gauge to receive the scroll.

Great Naruto Bridge stage: Stand still on the boat for three counts of the timer gauge to obtain a hidden scroll.

Kazekage's Mansion stage: Attack the vending machine between fifteen and thirty times to get the hidden scroll.

Sunagimo Estate and Buddha Statue stage: Plane shift up to the top of the level and destroy the object flying in the tornado. It will take more than one tornado to complete this.

In Freebattle mode with one or two players use Sasuke and fight Naruto eleven times or more to get a secret scroll, What Is It?

Ranks:
A new rank is awarded at the indicated number of experience points.

Genin: 50 experience points
Chunin: 500 experience points
Special Jonin: 1,150 experience points
Jonin: 1,750 experience points
Anbu: 2,170 experience points
Hokage: 2,490 experience points

Easy win:
When fighting at Zabuza's hideout, teleport to the top portion of the battlefield where the bed is located. Run left or right under the ropes. Jump onto the rope and run to the left if you chose the right rope; or to the right if you chose the left rope. When your oponent jumps on to the other side, attack him or her to their side of the rope. This will trap them between you and the tree.

The easiest way to finish any of the missions is to play through the scenario mode of all the characters until you unlock Orochimaru.

Inner Sasuke and Inner Kakashi:
Fight Sakura and use Sasuke or Kakashi's Sharingan special. Then, press Down(2), Circle to use Inner Sasuke or Inner Kakashi.
Sasuke or Kakashi with sword:
Use the Sharingan super move with either Sasuke or Kakashi while fighting Orochimaru or Zabuza. If you complete the move, Sasuke or Kakashi will have a sword (depending on which you are fighting).
Sasuke with cursed mark and sharengaurd eyes:
When activating Sauske, (cursed marked) at the last part when Cursed Mark Sauske attacks with his lightning covered hand, look closely at his eyes. His eyes are sharengaurd. REMEMBER: Sharengaurd will not work on Curse Marked Sauske.
Chakra techniques:
You can do a Jutsu without using your secret techniques. Press Down(2), Circle to perform the following Chakra techniques:

Naruto: I overdid it!
Effect: Farts to make the opponent faint.

Sasuke: Fire Style: Fire Ball Jutsu
Effect: Blows a large flame to burn the opponent.

Sakura: This fairy tale is for real!!
Effect: Uses Inner Sakura to do a flurry of punches.

Kakashi: A Thousand Years of Death
Effect: Goes behind the opponent and gives them a painful poke in the butt.

Shikamaru: Now, Choji!
Effect: Summons Choji to the battle field to use the Human Boulder, and crushes the opponent.

Lee: Leaf Whirlwind
Effect: Spins leg around to trip the opponent.

Neji: Rotation
Effect: Spins like a top to counterattack.

Hinata: Medicine
Effect: Restores health, attack, and speed.

Haku: A thousand Needles of Death 1
Effect: Splashes water, freezes them, and fires sharp ice needles.

Zabuza: Water Prison Jutsu
Effect: Traps the opponent in a bubble, then crushes the opponent.

Gaara: Cursed Sandstorm Severing
Effect: Uses Shukaku's arm to punch the opponent.

Orochimaru: Blade Technique
Effect: Slashes the opponent with a powered sword.

The first symbol represent a Rat year in Chinese Zodiac, and the time would be 1 to 3 a.m. The second is an Ox, and time would be 3 to 5 a.m., etc.
